Project Overview
The Points Guy (TPG) has a great reputation for helping users plan their travels in cost effective, accessible ways. This project was a new integration that would allow TPG to monetize their editorial content by working with a travel insurance affiliate partner. Using the affiliate API and existing affiliate flow, we were tasked with coming up with a new TPG experience to help users get travel insurance quotes on the fly.
Process
I worked off of our affiliate's flow to come up with a native, streamlined flow from 12 steps to 4. The tool would then be ran in TPG editorial content.
Outcome
While we believed that putting an insurance tool in relevant travel articles, unfortunately the experience proved to have low interaction. That said, working to come up with an optimized flow opened the door for further integrations with TPG across other verticals.
